Background to support the role as a governor

I have been a local authority governor since 2007. With extensive experience from the health industry and local government I bring with me a wide range of management skills. As the Head of Planning for the largest NHS Commissioning Support Unit in the country my role requires me to understand the national agenda, work across a huge range of stakeholders and support them to develop plans and commission healthcare. Previous experiences include managing performance of hospitals (Acute Trusts) and change management and new service development across local authority directorates. I have also led and managed national projects for an education authority. I am a great believer in self-development and giving something back to the community and currently in the process of setting up a social enterprise linking parents, children’s education, global citizenship and the business sector. I hold a BSC(Hons) in Psychology, a postgraduate diploma in Management and also a qualified PRINCE 2 and MSP practitioner.
