SCIENCE WEEK 2015

INVENTIONS AND DISCOVERIES 6th – 10th  July

We started with a bang by having a science and engineering assembly for the whole school.  We learnt a lot about how anyone can be an inventor. We just have to open our mind, look in the environment for ideas and have a go!

Everyone had an inventions homework task before science week commenced.  There were three winning entries and the competition entry standards were very high. The winning entries were in Year 1, 2 and 3.

Back in class each year group carried out an investigation question. They researched around their topic and found out about famous inventors and the most outstanding inventions of our times.

All year groups demonstrated practical work during colour assemblies to show their parents.

Prizes for the best invention were awarded by Jas our Headteacher. See below what each year group was investigating.

  1. Nursery: Bottle volcanoes

  3.  Year 1: Chocolate Chip cookies ‘Which chocolate will be the best for baking?’
